Christmas Wishlist #7

What is the question I get asked the most this time of the year? What do you want for Christmas this year? What kind of thing should I get you for Christmas? I ask it too though. But since people enjoyed my birthday wishlist I thought I could do a Christmas wishlist. I hope this gives you some inspiration for a gift for a friend or relative or whoever or what to put on your own list.
Disclaimer: I know some people can see this kind of post as really (I can't think of the actual word) spoilt or selfish as Christmas is about giving more than receiving. I want to say I am completely happy with everything I have at the moment and the main reason I am doing this post is for my blog to give people inspiration.

Naked 2 Palette - honestly, who doesn't want this palette? It is expensive for a palette but it does gave some beautiful colours in and I've heard amazing reviews about the quality of it.

Black Leather Converse - I used to have a pair of blue converse and I wore them all the time because they were so comfy and they don't fit me any more but I would like a new pair of converse and I think the black leather ones are so beautiful and sleek and would go with everything.

Tanya Burr Candy Glam Palette - holy macaroni. I don't want to miss out on the chance of getting this palette because it is so beautiful and it is only available for a certain amount of time.

Zoella Two Balmy - I don't have much of Zoe's range, the only thing I've ever bought, which I still own because it is massive, is the Soak Opera and these balms look really cute and I would love to get them in my stocking this year (if I get a stocking I'm not too sure if I will?)

Real Techniques Eye Set - last year I got the core collection and they are incredible brushes and at the moment I have one eye brush which I use for everything. I do have other brushes but I just don't like them as much so some new eyeshadow brushes would be a great gift.

MAC Brave Lipstick - my MAC lipstick is probably my favourite lip product I own and such a great investment. I've seen this colour on loads of youtubers and I think it looks gorgeous and the perfect pinky nude.

Clothes So I do have a wishlist on New Look because that's my favourite clothes shop but the one particular thing I want is black jeans and other than that maybe some jumpers and cute tops and things.

Hit The Road Okay, I am so so proud of Joe and Caspar because it is an amazing achievement and I would love to get it because I know it will be hilarious and it will be a great one to add to my DVD collection.

Girl Online On Tour Sticking on the youtuber theme, I would love Zoe's new book because I loved the first one when I finally got round to reading it and I know the next one will be just as great.

And that's what I want for Christmas. Other than that I mainly want clothes or gift cards, but I know that is a lot and I won't get all of that and in no way am I trying to say I want this this and this get me this I'm just saying what things would make me very happy to receive on Christmas Day, although it is the thought that counts and I love every and any gift.

BEING ILL BUT HAPPY #6

Hello people. Bit of a later post today but I thought it would be a good idea to write a more chatty post every Sunday of Blogmas where I just ramble about how my week has been - mainly because I want to keep up to date with you lot but also because it's hard to think of 24 ideas for a month and I like to ramble sometimes.

So I'm ill. You probably know that if you've been watching my snapchat vlogmas (little bit of self promo but its elliesvloggs if you want to add that - they only last for 24 hours so better get yourself over there quickly). It started on Friday morning when I woke up and I felt really coldy and sneezy. Then by the time I got home from school my throat was really hurting and now I am so sniffy and my throat hurts so much, I think it's gone to my chest but it does hurt when I talk and I also have an ongoing headache, not a bad one just an annoying one.

Now that I've finished ranting about being ill, I'll talk about something else. I can't believe I've actually kept up the whole Blogmas thing for almost a week. Not gonna lie, all of them so far other than this have been prewritten but I still have more to take pictures for this week that are coming so I need to get them taken and edited.

Before this weekend, I've been feeling really happy with just life and everything and so excited for Christmas. The thing is right now, I am so excited for Christmas but I've been so busy I just can't actually get into the festive spirit. BUT IT'S ONLY 18 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

I have so many Vlogmas videos to catch up on, I'm catching up on 24 Days of Zoella as I write this and I should really be getting my stuff ready for school. I haven't put my Christmas tree up yet, although my room is crowded with decorations (post on that some time soon hopefully).

Spent most of today making a gingerbread house, although I didn't actually get time to assemble the house before I went home but we made the gingerbread and it took forever then we we decorated loads of the gingerbread (you'll have to go to my snapchat vlogmas to see that) but I left my (not proper) sister to actually make it into a house and they are going to use it as a centerpiece until New Year when we are going to eat it all. Yummmmmmm.

I think that's enough said and I should go and get my stuff ready for school. I hope you've all had an amazing week and are super excited for Christmas. Talk to you in tomorrows post.

Smokey Eyes & Nude Lips #5

If there's one thing that makes me super excited at Christmas it's doing different Christmassy makeup looks. I will be doing a few different ones in my Blogmas but I thought I would start with something which isn't necessarily a Christmas look, just a great look for going to a Christmas party, or even Christmas day.

This look is going to be more dark on the eyes and nude on the lip. Let's go.
Face
Honestly I never go too fancy with my face makeup and as the eyes on this look are quite dark and smokey I decided just to go for a natural base and stick with concealer - of course it's my Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer for under my eyes, what else?

Eyes
For the eyes I like to prime them with the Maybelline Colour Tattoo. I then use a light Matte taupey brown as a base. Then it's smokey time, I first off all like to use this dark blue grey from my Sleek Palette in the outer half of my eye, then a more purpley grey im the inner half of the eye. I darkened it up by using this dark purple in my outer corners and crease and blend it out a lot and added some contrast (I sound like an art teacher) by using this light champagne as an inner corner highlight.

To define the lash line, I used the Benefit Bad Gal Waterproof Eyeliner and then finished off with the Natural Collection Lash Build Mascara which I have been loving at the minute.

Lips
It's a very dark eye so I think a nude lip is perfect for this look, and quite a glossy one. I used this Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 03 which creates a sheen of nude on the lips but nothing too bad that looks like you are wearing concealer on your lips.

And that is it. I apologise this post is quite awkwardly written as I find it hard to write tutorial posts on my blog - I love makeup but I just prefer favourites and reviews and my personal makeup looks so sorry if this was a bit rambly and not the best post, but I hope you are enjoying blogmas so far.

Christmas Outfit: Simple but Fancy #4

Helloooooo
Welcome back to Blogmas and today I have an outfit idea for Christmas. I'm going to be doing a few of these this month but this first one is going to be more dressed up and fancy for if you want to make more of an effort.

Dress: H&M
Cardigan: H&M
Tights: No Idea? M&S maybe?
I always used to shop at H&M but I've become more into New Look this year although I do still buy the occasional item from H&M and still have clothes from my H&M obsessive times.

I think this look is nice because it's not so fancy you look like you're going clubbing or to a wedding but if you go to church on Christmas Day or just like to dress up a bit more. I love the lace on the dress, and the detailing at the bottom. I think it looks really pretty and a lot more interesting than just your average white/cream dress.

I would wear it with some heels maybe or just some nicer shoes and I might ditch the cardigan and go for a leather jacket (or denim if you have one, I really want one.)

Christmas Songs #3

I said in yesterday's post that there would be a post on Christmas songs coming soon, but little did you know it was today.

Christmas songs are so great. Whether they're happy or sad they always put me in a festive mood. Here are some of my favourites:

THE CHRISTMAS SONG COUNTDOWN. Going from my favourites to the best songs in the land.

10. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - I have no idea who it's by but its good.
9. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Sam Smith
8. Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer - Elmo & Patsy
7. Santa Baby - there are loads of amazing versions but Megan Nicole one is my favourite
6. Winter Wonderland - ANYONE
5. Santa Tell Me - Ariana Grande
4. Last Christmas - Wham!
3. All I Want For Christmas is You - Mariah Carey
2. Mistletoe - Colbie Calait - this is my favourite sad christmas song and it basically draws with the last one but hardly anyone has heard it and they should've because it is such an incredible festive song!
AND THE WINNER ISSSSS
1. Merry Christmas Everyone - Shakin Stevens - obviously, this is a traditional favourite of everyone's. It is so happy and I know it so well and it puts me in the perfect festive mood.

Well I wrote that and then I thought of a few more that I love so I thought I would just add them in at the end:

Happy Xmas (War Is Over) - John Lennon
Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid (such a catchy song and goes to a good cause, I hope they do another one this year)
Christmases When You Were Mine - Taylor Swift - I don't know if many people know about this, but I used to have a major obsession with Taylor Swift probably about 5 years ago then I went through a phase of hating her but now I like her and this is such an emotional song from her Christmas album.

And those are my favourite Christmas songs.

Christmas Past #2

Blogmas Day 2 wooooo! Today I thought I would talk (I say that but I mean type and to you it means read) about Christmas past for me, what my Christmas traditions are, things like that.
I think someone should count how many times I say Christmas during Blogmas, my bet is somewhere near 60.

So probably from when I was very little, although I'm not really sure, up to 2013, Christmas has always been at my house, and that was tradition. Me, my brother and my mum were the hosts to my aunt and her son (my cousin), my uncle, my grandma and my grandad, all from my mums side of the family.

My mums side of the family are quite religious (not like in Carrie but as in they go to church most weeks) so we would always wake up and get ready and have some kind of breakfast, some times it has been cooked and sometimes just cereal, then go off to church. We would then come back and have a drink (they would have champagne I think) and some crisps and get started on the roast dinner. Then it is the kids favourite part. I still love this part, although nowadays I actually love giving presents just as much (if not a tiny bit more) as receiving them. Present time! We would all sit on the carpet or the sofa by the tree and open our presents, not all at once obviously.

After that me and my cousin would probably play or have fun with our presents whilst the adults carried on cooking Christmas lunch. I would probably lay the table and help in any way I could and we would just chill until lunch was ready. We would have the traditional roast dinner: turkey, stuffing (Holy cow I am so excited for stuffing I can't explain!), roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, vegetables, I think that's the lot.

For the rest of the afternoon we would probably just relax and spend time together. Watch some Christmas telly or play a board game or something like that and if we were at all hungry, eat leftovers for dinner and watch some more Christmas telly.

And that would be Christmas. Last year we decided to go up to my uncle's in the North of England instead, for lots of reasons which I won't go into, and we are going there again this year. Last year it snowed on Boxing Day which was so cool and everyone back home were so jealous of my pictures of snow everywhere.

We don't really have that many Christmas traditions. At the beginning of December we will get our Christmas tree and decorate it and me and my mum will listen to Christmas music the whole month (whole post dedicated to that coming soon.)

CHRISTMAS COUNT: 10 TIMES

Welcome to Blogmas #1

Christmas is my favourite time of the year. By far. I used to not be sure but now I realise I would 100% pick Christmas over my birthday. I'm not going to talk about it too much because you've got another 23 posts to read with me rambling on about Christmas.

Today I thought I would just talk about Blogmas. By the time you're reading I have probably already written most or all of the posts (so I can still have festive fun with friends and family and post every day) but there are just going to be lots of exciting Christmas posts. Makeup looks, outfits, gift ideas and so many more posts, as well as chatty posts where I just ramble about life.

The posts will be going up at 6pm every day in December (unless there is a problem) and I'm just very excited to share my festiveness.

I will also be doing vlogmas on my snapchat which is elliesvloggs so you can add that too if you would like.

Hope you're excited for Blogmas!
