Product Empties #1 ♡

Hey beauts,
So as I've been using up a lot of products recently I thought I would do an empties post so lets get started. I decided not to have photos in this list as I've already thrown away most of the packaging of these products so sorry :(

Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes
Opinion? So simple but they really do the job great. I took quite a while to get through these as I bought them literally a few days before I started using Garnier Micellar Water but I find them very useful, not just for taking makeup off but for wiping down the outsides of products to keep them looking pristine and especially for bloggers, after doing all that swatching, you might need to wipe the product off your hands.
Price? £3.25
Repurchase? Yes definitely, I will wait until they are on offer though as I don't need them straight away.
Original Source Vanilla and Raspberry Shower Gel
Opinion? A. Mazing. This is one of the nicest smelling things i own and real makes you feel clean. I love how the ingredients are hand picked and especially that they don't test on animals.
Price? £2.30
Repurchase? Of course. I haven't found anything better than it and it is amazing value and is usually on sale for £1 so I will definitely repurchase it, although not straight away as I have lots of shower gels left to use up.
Original Source Raspberry and Cocoa Shower Gel
Opinion? I bought this because of how much I love the vanilla and raspberry one but honestly, I hate it. It cleans you well enough but the thing I can't stand is the smell. When I bought it, I thought raspberry and cocoa would be amazing, but it's so dark and sickly and just gross. Some people may like it and I don't mean to offend you if you do, but I would not recommend this, unless you like this kind of smell, so you could go and smell it in the shop.
Price? £2.30
Repurchase? Noooo, sorry but I really don't like it and I much prefer the other one.
The Body Shop Rainforest Shine Shampoo
Opinion? This is the shampoo that I go straight to when I am washing my hair. It does everything a shampoo should do, and so much more. It cleans, freshens, softens, adds shine, and just all together nourishes my hair. I love it a lot.
Price? £2.00
Repurchase? Definitely. I have tried other shampoos but I can never stick with them as they just don't do it for my hair. This is my perfect shampoo and I will continue to repurchase it for years.
Nivea Hydro Care Lip Balm
Opinion? I used to talk about this so much, but I literally use this every day and it's so moisturising and hydrating and makes me lips not at all chapped and so soft.
Price? £1.55
Repurchase? That's not even a question. Hell yeah!
This was the first empties post I ever did so let me know in the comments if you enjoyed it.
What products have you used up recently?

My Festival Look - Makeup & Hair ♡

Summer is basically here, and that is when a lot of people start talking about festivals, which quite honestly scares me. If I'm honest, I don't think I've ever actually been to one but it does seem a lot of fun just horrible if the weather isn't nice.
Today, I thought I would do a GRWM kind of post where I show you the makeup and hair I would have if I was to go to a festival.

Makeup
So obviously if you are out in the outdoors in the sun (or rain) you will want your makeup to last a long time, so you probably will want to use a primer. I usually don't have the effort but I think if you were going to be camping and standing around in a humid space then I wouldn't miss this step.

Then concealer. Obviously, if you have good skin you might not need concealer, or any base products at all, but I think concealer is good for a natural look as you font want a full face of makeup if you are going to be spending the day outside. To set the concealer, I recommend powdering.
For eyes, you also don't want to be too complicated so I think its good to use a cream eye-shadow, so I would recommend the Maybelline Colour Tattoos for that.

When I think of festivals I think of winged eyeliner so I would definitely do that if I was going to s festival. Then I just take the colour tattoo a tiny bit under my eyes on my waterline to darken the look up and finish off with mascara on my top and bottom lashes.
Lip wise I decided to use my MUA Tulip Lipstick and my Clarins Natural Lip Perfector on top for a natural nude lip.
Hair
If I hadn't washed my hair that day, I would use some dry shampoo and just brush out my hair to get rid of any knots. I would then flip my head upside down and just take the top section of my hair and do a half up half down style. Then with the part I have tied up I will just do a normal plait through it and secure it. I then just mess it up a bit and that is all I will do for my hair - it just gets it out of my face and looks very cute too.
Have you ever been to a festival?

That Kind Of Person Tag ♡

Helloooo,
I have been doing a lot of complicated posts full of pictures recently, so I thought I would go back to basics and do a tag like I used to. This tag was created by the amazing Connor Franta and let's just get started..
Breakfast, lunch or dinner: I really love brunch but also dinner is great!
Do you drink your cereal milk? Depends. If its Corn Flakes or Rice Krispies then no way, but if its Coco Pops or a chocolate cereal then definitely.
CDs, radio or phone: Phone phone phone phone all the way.
Window or aisle? Window 100% although I usually end up in the middle but otherwise window so I can see the beautiful views.
Fold or crumple? Crumple, who has time for folding?
Shampoo then bodywash, or bodywash then shampoo? Shampoo then body wash by far, its so much better because if you wash your body then get shampoo on your body it just defeats the point.
Stressed or relaxed? I go through phases, sometimes I'm so stressed and tired and sometimes I am all cool and relaxed, but honestly I'm usually stressed.
Impatient or patient? Again, depends. I am impatient in arguments but patient at waiting for things to be honest.
Schedule or go with the flow? Bit of both, I don't have a complete schedule, I mostly go with the flow but I do need to have a bit of a schedule so I know what's going on.
What do you want to be when you grow up? Actress or something to do with makeup.
Prankster or not? Prankstaaaaa. But not that good of one.
Dressed up or dressed down? Dressed down. Pyjama days are my favourite. And dresses and dressing up just annoys me.
Favorite Clothing Item? Leather jacket and acid wash shorts.
What instrument would you play? I play piano and used to play guitar, but I really want to start guitar again.
East Coast or West Coast? I live in England so I have no clue.
London or LA? That's difficult because I live near London and I love going there, but I've never been to LA and I would love to go there.
Favorite Holiday? Summer holidays because its 6 weeks off school, and Christmas as I love spending time with my family.
How big is your bed? Double.
Sleep with your doors open or closed? Ajar, so not completely closed but enough so I can get air and get out if I need to. I really don't know why, its just a thing I have.
Sheets tucked in or out? Out, in is so uncomfortable.
Ever stolen anything? Stolen things off people like I used to steal blu tack from primary school, but not from shops or anything illegal.
Tattoos or piercings? None oops. I really need to get my ears pierced, but no.
Smile in every photo? No way I make the ugliest faces.
Have you ever peed in the woods? I honestly can't remember. I probably have but I don't remember it.
Concert or theme park? Never been to a proper concert but they seem really great, however I'm not that into huge rides either like loops or really high drops but I couldn't pick.
Music or books? Music 100000%
Animated or reality? I don't know.
Letter or email? What kind of question is that in the 21st century? Email.
First concert? Like I said, I've never actually been to a real concert.
Do you own a record player? Nope, I think my dad does though.
Do you speak any different languages? I speak English and we learn Spanish at school so I know quite a lot of that. I also know a tiny bit of French.
Sweet or savory? Sweet most probably.
Can you curl your tongue? Nope.
Can you touch your tongue to your nose? Hahaha I don't think anyone can.
Can you whistle? Not properly.
Have you ever won a spelling bee? We don't have them in England.
Do you believe in ghosts?  I don't know.
Do you believe in aliens? I don't know, I really don't.
I hope you all enjoyed this tag, comment below what other more chatty tag posts you want me to do.

A Beautiful Body Shop Quad? ♡

For Christmas I was given a Body Shop set that included an eye shadow palette along with a their famous The Sparkler glitter spray thing and I have been liking it a lot so I thought I would do a review of it.

So first of all, I'm pretty sure this is limited edition but maybe they'll bring it out again next winter. It's called frosted pastels and its actually a quad. It comes with two matte neutrals, a cream and a taupey brown, and two shimmery colours, a light mint greeny blue kind of colour and a dark blue. I love how it includes both neutrals and some more colourful ones as it is a great way to start adding a little bit of colour into your look subtly.

I guess this probably is more of a wintery palette because it is more blues and that, to me, is more of a wintery colour, but the neututal colours are great for all year round and it comes in a very sleek, compact packaging.

I fell in love with it as soon as I saw the packaging, its handbag size and the packaging is pretty basic and just black. But on the front it has such a pretty florally type design using mostly the two different blues that come in the palette.

Onto the actual eye shadows, they are really pigmented and apply well to your eyes, they aren't very waterproof but they do stay on well otheriese and don't crease much.

Also, it is great for beginners as on the back it shows you one way you could create a really nice eye look with it.

Another handy thing is that the brush isn't all bad. Yes, on one end there is s stupid sponge brush that everyone hates, but on the other end (its double sized brush if you didnt realise) there is a flat brush, which isn't great for blending, but is perfect fot packing shadow on your lids.

Overall, this is a great palette and is perfect for on the go as it comes with just four gorgeous eyeshadoes, a brush and a huge mirror - so basically everything you need - however it is or isn't cheap or available. However, if you desperately want to try out an eye shadow palette from the Body Shop I have heard great things about the shimmer cubes.

I give this palette 9/10.

Have you tried any of the Body Shop makeup?

Morning Routine ♡

Routine videos are some of my favourite videos to watch, so I was really surprised when I found that I had never done any kind of routine on my channel, so as you probably worked out, I am going to do a morning routine now!
7:04
So this is when my last alarm goes off and I have to wake up. So usually I will just go on my phone for five minutes and check social media then get up.
7:10
Once I have got up I will want to stay in my cosy pyjamas forever so I will go downstairs and eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast. I just usually have Coco Pops because that's what is in my house. Whilst I am eating it I will catch up on some YouTube or a TV show.
7:25
So once I've had my breakfast I will just put on some Soap & Glory Girligo then get dressed and get into my school uniform.
7:40
Time to sort out my tangled bush of bed hair. Well, its not actually that bad haha! I will basically just brush my hair out to get rid of any knots and then if I want to I might do a fancy hairstyle (and by that I mean a high ponytail or side plait because I don't have much time) then I will do that but at the moment I am liking having my hair just down and straight.
7:50
Makeup time! If you want to know what makeup I wear to school check out my post here. I won't do too much makeup but just a tiny bit to make me feel more confident and I just love wearing it.
8:00
Now all my makeup and hair is done, I would just sort out my bag and make sure I have everything I need then brush my teeth and then I will be ready.
8:05
Now I am all ready, I will just sit on my phone and iPad and talk to some friends and go on social media and watch some YouTube.
8:15
Time to go. I would just put my shoes, school blazer and bag on and head to my friends house where we walk to school from.
Off to school! That is basically my morning routine and its quite quick as I don't like waking up too early.
What is that one step you couldn't miss of your morning routine?

Summer Lip Picks ♡

One of my favourite spring trends is the bright lips do i thought I would do a post about my favourite lip products for spring, including a mini review of each and swatches. Enjoy!
This is a collab with the lovely Emsirose so check out her blog here as it is amazing and she has done her top 5 Summer nail picks, so you get a bit of lip and a bit of nail.

These are all the products I will be taking about, let's just get started...
Collection Cream Puff - 03 Fairy Cake
I've been talking about this way way way too much recently but it is just such a brilliant liquid lipstick kind of thing. It gives so much colour and dries a matte corally pink bright colour. This is definitely one of my must haves for summer.
MUA Luxe Lipstick - Tulip
I talked about these lipsticks in my favourites post but they just apply very smoothly and are super pigmented. This is just a gorgeous natural pinky nude colour and is a very light and quite bright colour which I love for summer.
Baby Lips Electro - Berry Bomb
So I often talk about this in my autumn posts as, if you build it up, it can make a really nice berry lip, but also, if you just apply a light coat it actually is a gorgeous pink colour which is perfect for summer.
Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors
So, I did a whole post about these which you can read here, but these are just such beauties! They are so different from anything else out there and I completely recommend, if you are looking for something more high end and luxury, just to splash out on one as they give a little colour but a lot of light and radiance to your lips and I think they just yell summer.

Nivea Fruity Shine Peach Lip Balm
This lip balm is quite sheer but just gives a gorgeous peachy sheen and a lot of shine to your lips. It's also super moisturising and hydrating and the smell is to die for! I love this and it's very summery.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. I spent a long time taking and editing these photos so I hope you like them, and make sure to check out Ems post which is linked at the top.

What one lip product do you have that is perfect for summer?

Renaming My Blog? ♡

So I have had my blog for almost two years I think, but when I first created it I wasn't even into makeup, I thought I was but I had no idea! At first it was just a bit of fun, to laugh at my stupid posts so I even stopped posting on it.

Nowadays, I have become a lot more into it and been putting a whole lot more time and effort in than I used to, for example the other night I spent all afternoon and evening taking and editing pictures for one post. But the one thing that I feel like is letting my blog down is the name as I feel like its a hassle to type in and difficult to find, so I want to change it.

My audience mean the world to me so I would really like it if you could help me choose a name. I want it to be something that I wont cringe over and to reflect what my blog is about so something to do with makeup or beauty maybe, but I'm not too sure?

Here are some of my ideas which you can either vote for or come up with a better one in the comments please :)

The only idea I could think of that wasn't taken was: beautyandasmile.blogspot.co.UK

Thanks for everything,

Ellie xoxo

Summer Haul// Boots, Lush & More ♡

Hey lovelies,
So the other dday I went shopping and spent a bit too much money on makeup...AGAIN. So, like usual, I thought I would share with you the products (and a few not makeup things too) that I picked up. Its not the biggest ever haul, but I love everything I bought a lot (and I bought it all out of my own allowance.) Also I have been trying out lots of different ways of taking and editing photos so let me know which kind you like as they will all be a bit different in each post.

So we will start off with something I actually picked up a bit longer ago, whilst visiting a really cute village on me and my best friends mini holiday we had, from a little shop called Penny something, I can't really remember. But it is just this adorable mason jar mug with straw thing that everyone has been obsessed with recently and I thought this would be really cool for summer. Also, on the side it just says 'Refreshing Drinks' in a fancy font and bubble. It does currently have a Starbucks straw in because the old one was blue and white striped but it was paper so it ripped.

Now onto the things I bought on my little shopping trip. The first place we went was Lush and I only picked up one thing as I don't tend to have that many baths in the summer, which was the S*x Bomb bath ballistic and I'm not too keen on the smell but we tried it out in the store and it was incredible in the bath so I am very excited to use that.

Next for Boots, I only picked up a couple of things as I spent most of my money in Superdrug. The only thing I actually paid for (and don't worry I didnt spteal the other thing I'm not that obsessed) was the Rimmel Match Perfection concealer as I have been wanting this for a while and my friend I was with recommended it, but the thing that sold me most was that it was on offer for £4.49 instead of £5.99 so a good bargain.

The other thing I got from Boots was something I am over the moon about: a Benefit Porefessional sample. The girl at the Benefit stand was very kind and gave it to us even though we hadn't actually bought any full size products. It is so cute and tiny which will be great for travelling and I can't wait to use this!

Superdrug, Superdrug, its just so tempting. I can't walk out with nothing. So the first things I picked up were on a deal, as it was 2 for £10 on any Maybelline products so I picked up two that I had been wanting to try for a while. Firstly, I picked up Baby Skin in Warm Apricot as I am never one to have the effort for primers but I want to be, so I'm hoping this is as amazing as everyone says, I will probably have a review of it coming soon.

The other thing I picked up from Maybelline was a powder as, again, I never usually have the effort for powder but I want to so I picked up the Maybelline Matte Maker that everyone has been talking about recently. But, when I opened it at home, it was broken. Not severely, but the pan had come out of the packaging, so I just need to superglue it back down and hope it stays. I got them both for £10 so the Baby Skin was £8 and the powder was meant to be £4 but was actually £2 because of the offer.

The last thing I picked up from Superdrug was a mascara, as I have a bit of an obsession with them. I picked up Collection No Clumps as I really hate when mascaras clump and I've heard lots of good things about this, including that it's just as good as Benefit They're Real, and for £2.99, I really couldn't exist. Again, there will probably be a review of this coming soon.

So that is everything I have picked up recently, it was my first shopping trip in ages. I am not trying to boast or show off in any way, I am simply showing you guys what I picked up as hauls are some of my favourite posts to read and write. I know some of these posts have already been in a couple of my recent posts but that's just the way my schedule has turned out, sorry :(

I hope you enjoyed this post, if you did, comment below what you have picked up recently and what posts you want to see me do in the future.

Travel Makeup Bag ♡

I own a lot of makeup, and that can be a problem when I want to go away. And because its almost the summer holidays (only 6 weeks and 1 day to go) I thought it would be perfect timing to do a post about my travel makeup bag. This is a collab with the lovely Jade so please go check out her blog and instagram, now let's get started.

First of all, this is what my makeup bag looks like. Its pretty simple but its huge and pretty so perfect for me. Its just got pink with white hearts and I got it free in a magazine.

The first things I have are some primers. I actually have two as I am trying them both out so as one of tthem is just a mini I don't mind. They are Maybelline Baby Skin in Warm Apricot and mini Benefit Porefessional.

Next, onto face products. I like to take my holy grail products as they just make me feel more confident, so I first of all have two concealers: Rimmel Match Perfection, a new purchase which I am so far love love loving, and my Collection Lasting Perfection which is way too orange for me, but will be very useful if I get a tan. I also like to bring a BB cream as you probably know I never wear foundation but in case I have a bad skin day or just want more coverage I will use my trusty Rimmel Radiance BB cream. Lastly, if I want a more matte look I like to bring my Maybelline Matte Maker powder.

For my cheeks, I'm not that botheres about bronzer and highlighter (especially as I have eye shadows I can use as them) or a completely put together look, but I like my MUA Bubblegum blusher and also my Loreal Bare Naturale blusher for a bit of colour on my cheeks- yes I bring two because ones a lot more bright and ones more natural depending on what mood I'm in.

Eyes, eyes, eyes. Firstly, for cream eye shadows (which I have been obsessed with lately) is the Seventeen Metallic Cream that I mentioned in my May favourites and the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze if I want a more bronzey and darker look so I love this more than anything!

The only palette I actually have is the Barbara Daly Makeup designer eyes in Quartz which is the perfect natural trio. It just comes with a cream champagne shade, a light brown and a dark greyish brown.

For eyeliners, I have my MUA Intense Colour eye liner in Rich Brown for my waterline and my Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner which I talk about way too much but is just the best liquid liner.

I have two mascaras here, Collection No Clumps and New Look Pure Definition, they are quite simiar but I feel like the Collection one is more defining and the New Look one is more volumising and I should really try them together as I think it would create such fluttery, volumised and just plain beautiful lashes.

For my lips, I always have to restrain myself otherwise I will go completely overboard and bring 20 lip products, which the zip on my makeup bag would not like *my jokes are rubbish sorry* so these are the ones I usually end up taking. First of all, my Nivea Hydro Care lip balm which I always talk about, but it's so moisturising and helps with chapped or dry lips and I always put this on before any other lip product because they will just apply a lot smoother and look so much nicer. The other lip balm I have is my Baby Lips (original) in Peach Kiss if I want a tiny bit of colour but just something really natural.

The other more bold lip products I have are my Clarins Rouge Éclat Lipstick in Woodrose which is a beautiful dark pink colour and my Collection Cream Puff in Fairy Cake which is a bright corally pink and I love them both to pieces.

That's everything I would bring in my travel makeup bag. Obviously, if I was only going for a couple of days I wouldn't bring this much but this is probably what I would bring if I was going for a week or something.

What makeup product do you have to take everywhere with you?

Ellie xoxo
