A Note From The Sky ♡

You may remember a week or two ago I told you guys that I would be going to Spain (read this post if you are confused) and here I am, on an airplane (well, I was when I was writing this), half an hour from landing.

It doesn't feel real. I honestly can't believe this is happening. No more England for me.

I would only have a week left of holidays but Spanish school doesn't start until later so I have extra time to settle in.

I will definitely be eating a lot of Spanish food, its so nice. I love tapas and chocolate and churros and paella and anything Spanish. Also there is an ice cream parlour in the town I will be living that makes AMAZING INCREDIBLE DELICIOUS ice cream. I want to have one when we land.

I will keep you guys updated on my Spanish life but I will still be doing beauty and fashion posts. I don't think I will start my autumn posts until I get back home (half term) as its hard to get into the autumn spirit when its 30°C!

Ahhhh, were starting to go down! That's it for this short chatty post, I've just been liking doing more chatty casual posts sometimes instead of just all beauty.

Q&A #3 ♡

Well hello everyone, my name is Tyler Oakley and...

I'm not Tyler Oakley, whoops! But it is time for another Q&A(or Slay) so lets just get on with the questions.

Favourite beauty product at the moment?
Hmmmm, welll, ummmmm...OOHH I am currently OBSESSED with the Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner (this is prewtitten but anyways). It is so easy to use and so black and easy to remove but doesn't slide off throughout the day. It's incredible and I can't believe I didn't try it sooner!

When do you go back to school?
So as I said this is prewritten but I'm going to change my post schedule and make sure this goes up before school starts. Anyway, if I was in England I would be starting school on the 7th of September but as I will be in Spain, Spanish school doesn't start for about another week after.

How much makeup do you wear for school?
Not much, at all, I never have. I normally just wear a little bit of concealer, sometimes eyeliner, mascara and a lip product of some kind. We are allowed to wear makeup at school but I don't want to put too much effort in and I don't want to wear loads anyway so this works well for me.

What do you want to be when your older?
For the longest time I've wanted to be an actress, and yes, I still do. Whether that's small parts in shows or films, or performing in musicals in the West End, anything where I get to act and perform makes me so so happy so to do that as a job would be my absolute dream. If that didn't work out I would probably want to do something to do with makeup but to be honest, if I'm not an actress, I don't know what I'll be.

What was your favourite memory from when you are younger?
I honestly don't remember when I was younger very well, for some annoying reason. I loved evenings in with my dada and brother, eating steak or prawns or something like that, watching The Simpsons and playing Mastermind or cards.

I also loved every summer when my cousin came to stay, and going to see Matilda with my mum and grandma was incredible! Got to be the best show I've ever seen! Also my memories with my two best friends from primary will always stick in my head. But I don't really have many specific memories that I remember well.

TV or YouTube? Summer or Winter?
YouTube. 100%. That was easy. How could I survive without all my favourite youtubers and my weekly dose of Suggs. The next is a bit harder, as I love both, I love being outside, going to the beach, eating ice creams, and lounging in the sun, but I also love winter when you can snuggle up in blankets and have Lush baths and light fires and also winter is when Christmas happens and autumn is great too so I would have to say winter.

What is your wardrobe staple item?
Most probably my jeggings and my acid wash shorts. In most seasons, my jeggings from H&M last year, but in summer, its my favourite shorts from New Look.

Rimmel or Maybelline?
I have been asked this in all my Q&As for some reason but Maybelline all the way.

Go to Hairstyle?
I'm going to be honest, I don't put that much effort in with my hair. I mean, obviously, I spend a while brushing it but other than that I tend to leave it down and just naturally straight most days. Occasionally I will plait my hair overnight after washing it and in the morning, I will take it out and most likely put it in a messy, high, curly ponytail. But yeah, that's about it really. Although I love putting it in a side plait or in two plaits on both sides of my head.

That's all the questions I'm going to answer in this post as I don't want it to be too long. Sorry the answers were quite rambly but this was a chatty post and it was just me naturally saying what comes into my head.

In Flight Essentials ♡

I'm going on a plane to Spain on Monday so I thought I would do a post about my In Flight Essentials, and basically whats in my carry on.

SUNGLASSES
So my flight gets into Spain at 12 something (midday) their time so the sun should hopefully be glaring down at us when we get there, so these will definitely be needed at the end.

SHORTS
Like I said, it will be very sunny and also very hot, so weating leggings, I think I will melt. If I bring these in my carry on I can change into them near the end of the flight and not melt when I get there.

WIPES & TISSUES
Planes can be quite hot and also I do sometimes get nose bleeds so makeup wipes & tissues are great for that. Also, I will go onto the plane without any makeup on and I will put some on near the end so before I put it on I find it nice to just wipe any dirt or excess makeup from the day before off.

MAKEUP
So as I said I will put some makeup on before I get off so I will probably take quite light but put together makeup like:
            -CONCEALER
            -CREAM EYESHADOW
            -EYELINER
            -MASCARA
            -LIPSTICK

BOOK
I'm reading Paper Towns at the moment and I can't stop reading it. The flight is about two and a half hours so a book helps occupy the time.

HEADPHONES
Once I'm bored reading, I will most probably listen to music and either try and sleep, or just look at the view. It's another thing to occupy my time and I love listening to music.

HOODIE
To use as a pillow, blanket and keep me warm, a hoodie is just an essential for an a plane.

SWEETS
When you are taking off and landing, it feels so weird so its nice to have some kind of sweet (gum doesn't really do it for me in this situation) to chew whilst taking off as it stops it feeling so weird.

SPRAY
Some kind of spray, whether it's a deodrant or a body spray, is a good idea to bring on a plane as you may feel quite sweaty and smelly by the end so you could go into the bathroom, get changed and have a little spritz of your spray.

HAND SANITIZER
Last, but not least, hand sanitizer is an essential, as there are a lot of germs on an airplane and if you are eating food if something, its a good idea to use some hand gel just to keep healthy and happy.

So they were my in flight essentials, I would have more if it was a longer flight, but its less than three hours so I don't have that many. This was a different style of post to my normal posts, so let me know if you liked it.

Best Of Soap & Glory ♡

Soap and Glory is one stand I will run to whenever I go into boots. I have tried quite a lot of their body products but have only recently picked up some of their makeup, so I decided not to include it. But today I thought I would write a post all about Soap and Glory and do mini reviews of all the products I have tried from them.

Hand Maid

There is a lot of hype around the Bath and Body Works hand sanitisers but you can't get them easily in the UK, so when I wanted a nice smelling hand sanitizer, I went to Soap & Glory and picked up their hand sanitizer - Hand Maid. This has a pretty similar scent to most S&G products and is great to be more hygienic if you want to eat or are in a busy place like a town or school.

Hand Food

Especially in the winter, I tend to get quite dry hands so I use this more in the winter but this really moisturises and refreshes your hands and dries quickly so you won't be left with greasy, sticky hands that you can't do anything with. This also has the gorgeous signature S&G scent.

The Righteous Butter
I have been using this so much this summer and it literally moisturises and hydrates your skin so well. It sinks into your skin quickly like Hand Food and smells amazing. I'm not allergic to this either which is surprising! Overall it's just a great body butter.

Flake Away
Summer is when the shorts come out and if you aren't prepared and you are anything like me, your legs will be the least soft thing ever which you may want them to be, so its very important to use a body scrub and this just gets rid of any dead skin cells and makes your skin a lot smoother and healthier. This scrub also smells incredible and gets your legs feeling amazing. Just realised I've been saying legs this whole time but that's not the only place you should put it, your arms are important too.

Clean on Me
This is just a shower gel and it 1) smells like the rest of the range - ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS and 2) really foams up and cleans well. These have a great texture as they aren't too solid and jelly like but they aren't too liquidy either. You can get minis of these for £2.50 at Boots so they are perfect for going on holiday and are just a great all round shower gel.

Calm One Calm All
A lot of people don't realise this exists bit it is a bubble bath and it is actually really great. Again, it obviously smells amazing (I'm running out of words to praise the scent whoops!) It creates so many bubbles in the bath too and it is very soothing.

Girligo
This product is one of my favourites. I use this so much because it has the Soap & Glory scent - which we've already established that I adore! - but in a body spray. It calls itself a Spray On Body Moisturising Mist, bit of a mouthful but it is basically like a moisturiser and body spray in one. I definitely recommend this.

TIME FOR AN ADVENTURE

You're probably thinking: 1. Another chatty life post, honestly I came here for makeup talk! And 2. Wait...the title is all in caps and there is no heart, what's happened to Ellie? I'm still here folks, don't you worry. And this post is hardly going to be serious, I just want to let you guys know about something amazing that is just happening in my life.

Well...

How do I start?

Since I was about 11 my mum has always said to me "Oh Ellie we should take a gap year and go live in Italy or Spain and you can go to school there and it will be great."

But I was always replying "No mum, I'll miss my friends too much!"

Oh dear, little eleven year old me didn't realise how amazing it could be, what a great opportunity and that those friends weren't real friends. But, around the April time, after me and my "best friend" had a big fallout, I realised that I wanted to go. 

Again, my mum asked: "Come on, let's go to Spain! Or anywhere! Let's get away from here for three months or something!"

That time was different. That time changed everything.

"Sure!" A writer would say I chirped that but I'm not a writer.

We started talking about it but we never knew it would actually happen.

I don't know if I've even mentioned that my aunt and cousin on my mums side live in Spain. 

But today's post I am telling you guys that we are going to live with them.

Not forever.

Eight weeks.

Our new life.

An adventure.

And that's what I write this post to tell you all. I left it quite late because I had no clue how you guys would react, but I knew I couldn't hide it. I will still be blogging, but my pictures and a lot of things will change.

It won't be all fun and games though, I will have to go to school with my cousin and speak a lot of Spanish.

Before August ends I will get on a flight and land in Spain.

So yeah, I'm going to spain, wooooooo!

I will try and post some travel related posts and when I get back I will do a post showing you guys some pictures.

I don't know what to say now, I'm being awkward :))))))

Mini Beauty & Fashion Haul♡

I love shopping. A bit too much. I tried to stop myself but I have ended up doing even more. I haven't bought loads, just one clothing item, a few makeup and beauty bits and a book, but I thought I would do a little haul anyway and let you guys know what I bought.

Miss Selfridge Top
I can't find this on the website but as you can see from my picture it is the most gorgeous halter neck black top with a pink and blue aztec pattern. I am absolutely in love with it and it was £12 from Miss Selfridge.

Paper Towns - John Green
I've read about eighty pages of this already which is amazing for me because I'm really not that into reading. I used to love it but nowadays I can never find books that I find that gripping. Until this one, I'm sure its going to be amazing and I can't wait to see the film too. This was £8.99 and I got it from the bookshop in my village.

Original Source Vanilla & Raspberry Shower Gel
I've mentioned this in quite a few posts before but this is my favourite shower gel - it cleans well and smells amazing. I ran out so I had to pick up a new one. (I couldn't take a picture of this as it is already in my shower being used.)

Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Bronze Palette
This is amazing so far! It was £4 and it has 6 bronzey toned neutral shades. I love my Sleek Palette but I've been using it so much and I felt like I needed to switch it up a bit so I decided to pick this up as there was loads of hype around these a couple of months ago and I wanted to see if it was worth the hype. So far it is, but I'll probably do a review on it when I've tried it out more.

Soap & Glory Festival Survival Stash
This set is so amazing! If you bought it all separately it would be £35 yet they are selling it for £15. They didn't have it in my local Boots but I saw it on the website and decided I needed it, especially as I basically needed to repurchase or wanted to try anyway all the products in here. *they didn't sponsor me I am just amazed at how much of a bargain and how amazing this is!*

Serious Blog Chat♡

Aloha, you amazing people!
I made this blog to write about whatever I fancied, whether that be makeup or more personal things, and today I wanted to just spill my guts out to you guys and ask you some advice.

I love this blog. I've had it for probably about two years now although I only really started taking it seriously in January-ish. Writing blog posts is one of my favourite things to do. The whole blogging experience just makes me so happy. And I'm starting to feel quite proud of it.

But, at the moment, I'm having to be proud of my blog on my own. That's the only way I can really describe it. I don't mean that I want people to know so they can be proud of me, that's not at all what I'm saying.

It took a while for my blog to get going but recently it really has been. I have over five and a half thousand pageviews and am getting a lot more comments than I used to.

I'm so grateful for that. Anyone who reads my blog I love you to pieces and thank you so much for the support.

But today I wanted to talk about people knowing about my blog.

I'm not saying I want everyone at school to know, or anything like that. I'd rather keep it secret from them for the minute.

But I want to be able to talk to my family about it.

And that's where I need some advice from you guys.

None of them know that I have a blog. And I desperately want to tell them, especially my mum. I guess I'm just scared what her reaction will be. Also I don't know how to tell her.

(It would be so great if she could just read this post to explain to her I have a blog and didn't know how to tell her, wouldn't it now?!)

I wanted to post this because 1. I needed to get it out so I didn't bottle it up. And 2. I need some advice from you guys, how can I break it to her? If you have any ideas or if you have had to tell a family member something like this and have some advice, please please please comment or send me a message (using the form at the right of my blog).

I always used to finish my posts with 'Keep Smiling' and I wanted to remind you guys to smile. It will work out in the end.
